The tagline of the 1979 theatrical release, Alien, was “In Space, No One Can Hear You Scream.” What most moviegoers didn’t catch was that the second part of that tagline was “...but you can still hear Doug Hebert’s laugh.” His boisterous laugh and mere presence transcends space and time. He can be about as subtle as an air horn during a church service. With an intensity and passion for design turned up to 11, this constantly inspired, heavy-metal-loving, Red Bull enthusiast has applied his talents to the creation of multifaceted branding, marketing and communications programs for clients such as Sysco Corporation, Baylor College of Medicine, Delta Air Lines, Lyondell Chemical Company and CenterPoint Energy. Doug has extensive experience extending brands across a variety of different media—print and online. His work has been featured in, or recognized by, HOW Magazine, Graphis, AIGA 365, Communication Arts, STEP Inside Design Magazine, Print, the Type Director’s Club, and he has lectured at design conferences across the country about designing for non-profits.

In 2004, Doug won an Ideas that Matter grant from Sappi Paper to create the highly-publicized High Risk Handbook for Premature Infants for the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. It was at that time he realized his true passion—designing for social causes and helping non-profit organizations communicate their programs and agenda to the public through strategic design. He has received three additional grants from Sappi—to fund a project to promote older child adoption at DePelchin Children's Center, for educational materials for pancreatic cancer patients at MD Anderson Cancer Center, and for anti-bullying literature for students and educators for GLSEN Houston. He also founded Savage Good, an initiative that provides strategic creative services to local non-profit organizations on a pro bono basis.
