Ellen Sitkin

Ellen is the Graphic Design Lead for IDEO’s New York office. She works with multidisciplinary teams to communicate a wide range of ideas from company-wide innovation strategy to product branding to detailed information design for clients in financial services, retail, fashion, hospitality, media, health, and government. Her current focus is on addressing systemic challenges in the Education sector.
Prior to joining IDEO, Ellen worked as an Environmental Graphic Designer at the American Museum of Natural History, where she collaborated on the design of permanent and traveling exhibitions including Darwin and the Hall of Human Origins. Her freelance work spanned a variety of disciplines including book, editorial, web and identity design.
In June 2007, she spent a month in Hale County, Alabama as part of John Bielenberg’s Project M, an intensive program aimed to inspire young designers by proving that their work can have a positive social and environmental impact on the world.
Her work has been recognized by the Society for Environmental Graphic Design, the American Institute of Graphic Design, and several design publications.
Ellen holds a BFA in Visual Communications from Washington University in St. Louis.
