Frances Yllana is the Associate Creative Director of MasonBaronet in Dallas, Texas. In the past 10 years, she has for some of Dallas’s most reputable design and advertising firms on projects ranging from corporate identity, business to business marketing, annual reports, publication design, book design, branding, illustration, copywriting, traditional advertising, static and dynamic website design, CMS websites, social media and social networking.
Her work has been recognized in some of the industry’s most noted print publications and interactive collections including Print, Graphis, Communication Arts, Black Book AR100, Creativity34 and The Dieline and has won awards from the American Advertising Federation, Houston Art Directors Club, The Dallas Society of Visual Communications and the Press Club of Dallas to name a few.
Along with her work in the field, Frances also has experience teaching University level design theory, practice and interactive. From 2008 to 2009, she was Adjunct Professor and Senior Lecturer of Design at the University of Texas Arlington’s Art + Art History Department.
Frances lives in Dallas, and is very active in the design and arts community. She previously served on the Young Women’s Advisory Council for the National Women’s Museum and currently serves on the board for the Dallas Society of Visual Communications.
Frances is also founder of Good For Grasshopper, a non-profit organization that coordinates professional preparation workshops and publishes online resources and inspiration — on the website, Facebook and Twitter — for design students and new graduates making the transition into the “real world”. The website acts as both advisor and cheerleader for students and encourages students to in turn “do good” for the communities they live in and to get involved.
