The 1% User’s Manual / First Place: Community
MendeDesign won the Sappi Ideas That Matter Grant on behalf of Public Architecture’s “The 1%” program. “The 1%” connects non-profit organizations in need of design assistance with architects willing to give of their time. To launch the program, we wrote and designed “The 1% User’s Manual”—two books bounded together in a transverse fashion so that they share a common spine. One book is written for architects, the other for non-profit administrators. Each book presents five specific benefits a pro bono relationship is positive, productive and sustainable.
