Only Human / Second Place: Student
ONLY HUMAN was an international photography exhibit on the common experiences that unite humanity despite our cultural differences. The images were donated by 49 photographers from around the world. Each photograph was the artists’ visual answer to the question, “what does it mean to be human?” Over the course of one year more than 1100 photographic entries were received from more than 30 nations. What started as one woman’s MFA thesis project became a global effort to tell the story of a united humanity. The primary objective of the exhibit was to create awareness between and among cultures about our similarities, so that we might learn to tolerate our differences.
