The statistics surrounding child abuse are staggering. 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are abused before the age of 18 but only 1 in 10 will tell someone. In Collin County, Texas, a child is victimized by abuse every 10 seconds. Child abuse effects every zip code in Collin County regardless of demographics, ie income, ethnicity, etc.
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County exists to be an advocate for these children, providing safety, healing and justice for over 35,000 victims and their families across every zip code in Collin County.
The posters were placed in highly visible and accessible areas such as doctor’s offices, schools, advocacy centers, etc. providing awareness to the CACCC, the problem of child abuse and how to report if suspected. The graphics communicate the problem in a striking and strong way without being scary, making it appropriate for all audiences both young and old.
